Learning to Drive
If you are reading this page then quite probably you are considering learning to drive or you are looking to find an instructor for a friend or family member. Alan's Driving School is a family business and has been teaching driving skills to learners of all levels since 1980.
We offer manual and automatic driving lessons with either male or female driving instructors and cover a large area of Essex, East London and Kent. Our instructors are highly qualified and committed to the DSA directive of “Safe Driving for Life”. For further information on learning to drive visit the Directgov website.

Lessons are offered to provisional licence holders from 17 years of age onwards. If you haven't yet applied for your provisional license you can get a form (D1) from your Post Office, first provisional license costs £50. However you can now apply for your provisional driving licence online using the Directgov website.
We offer driving lessons to learner drivers seven days a week mainly between 8am and 8pm. Daytime lessons (Mon-Fri) are usually readily available. For evening and weekends you may have to make an advance booking to secure the time that is most convenient to you.
We have various dual control vehicles available in both manual and automatic, petrol and diesel. Our driving lessons can be taken daily or weekly - whatever suits your lifestyle, please specify your preferences when booking.
Gift vouchers are available for any number of lessons or any amount of money if you wish to give a gift of driving tuition.
Alan's Driving School covers most of Essex, East London and Kent and is known for its high standard of driver training and success.
