Residential Intensive Course (3-10 days)
Students travel from all over the country to attend our residential intensive courses, so it is important for us that they are well looked after. This is why we have selected the Welbeck Hotel in Westcliff on Sea for our Essex guests.
The Welbeck Hotel is a lovely Victorian hotel situated near the seafront and within a short distance from the station. Southend is one of the largest towns in Essex offering shops, arcades, bars, restaurants, a casino and a theatre.
All of these are easily accessible from the hotel. Their rooms are clean and a cooked breakfast will be included to set you up for your day.
Evening meals are available at an extra cost.

You will be given tuition over 3-10 days depending on how many hours you have chosen to do. Our normall course times are 9am-2pm every day. (This can be varied by special arrangement). This means information you learn remains fresh and this allows your confidence to grow. Ultimately, much more effective learning takes place as there are no long gaps between your tuition and you do not spend half of your lesson recapping what you have previously learnt.
To begin your Alan’s Residential Intensive Driving Course you will need two things.
1: Provisional Driving Licence
2: Theory Test: (Required for Full Intensive & Residential Courses)The Theory Test is split into two parts. The first is a multiple choice test comprising of 50 questions. This is carried out using a touch screen computer. The pass mark is 43. The second part is a Hazard Perception Test. This is a series of 14 separate video clips showing hazardous situations. You identify these hazards by clicking the mouse at the appropriate time. You must score 44 or more out of 75 to pass. Once you pass both parts you will then need to take your practical driving test within 2 years otherwise you will have to retake both parts again.
